Peacock Pendant Giveaway

It's been awhile since I've had a blog giveaway, and since I also recently passed 750 sales in the Etsy shop, I thought I would celebrate with another little contest. This time I'll be giving away the peacock pendant above, made with a glass tile and vintage illustration.

All you have to do is post a comment below with a response to the following question: What children's book is near and dear to your heart?

I'll be taking comments until April 25th, and then I'll select a winner via the Random Number Generator. Please make sure that I have a way to contact you when you leave your comment!
And good luck!

I loved "The Twelve Dancing Princesses" but more for the illustrations than story, which was sort of typical of me. I even blogged about it not too long ago http://cicadadaydream.blogspot.com/2008/09/story-about-story.html

My favorite children's book is "the little engine that could". A nice story about how if you put your mind to something - you can do anything.

Definatelt The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge... I still read it every year (now that I'm over 30, it looks a little odd while reading on the train *smirk*)

'Pet Show by Ezra Jack Keats'... by far my favorite book as a child. The illustration is just amazing! A close second is 'In The Night Kitchen by Maurice Sendak'.

Madeline! I always wanted one of those French school girl hats.

:)

I've also recently fallen in love with The Wave by Suzy Lee--no words, just drawings of a girl and a beach wave. Wonderful.

The 2 books I read over and over and over and my mom read over and over again to me (in no particular order) were "Where the Sidewalk Ends" and "The Light in the Attic". I have to agree with Linda and Amy..."Little Women" and "The Secret Garden" were my favorites when I got a little older!

Fabulous Giveaway! Thank you and congrats on all your 750 sales!!!

Little Red Riding Hood was a favorite story of mine. It scared me (the wolf ate granny back in those days!), but I still loved it.
I also loved many of the Little Golden Books.

I love the St Claires boarding school series by Enid Blyton. I was desperate to go to boarding school after reading those!

I read Five Children and It by Edith Nesbitt for a class in college. It caused such unexpected recollections to flow back into my memory that anytime I read it, now, I am promptly taken back to my young years. It's a wonderful escape from the banality of adulthood.

Thanks for the opportunity to win such a pretty pendant!

I still have my copy from when I was little...it was a little damaged due to my little ones, so I was able to pick up a second copy on ebay for a song!
and here are some fiber art postcards I made from the story:
